Keep A Flat Stomach

Alright, so someone I know really well (I can’t give out her name) has been doing weight watchers ™ for the past 3 weeks.
Okay, if you’ve read much of what I say and/or know a little about weight watchers ™, You might be able to guess what I’m about to tell you next.
Last night was her week 3 progress report/weigh in.
Week 1: 4.4 pounds lost
Week 2: 4.6 pounds lost
Week 3: 0.6 pounds lost
4 pounds per week for 2 weeks and then BLAM-O.. nothing, nada, zilch! Well, okay, 0.6 pounds. Big WHOOP.
So, if you know anything about weight watchers, then you know that they follow a points system. Meaning you can eat whatever you want as long as you don’t go over the number of points you’re allotted per day, okay?
Aight, here’s what happened after the week 2 weigh in.
She lost like 9 pounds, right, so based on her new weight her daily points were decreased by 2. Not a lot.
I’m not hatin’ on weight watchers, but this is a classic case of why diets fail miserably and why they can’t be sustained long term.
So, what happens if she keeps losing more and more weight? Does that mean that eventually she won’t be able to eat anything at all? I mean, she lost 9 pounds and she’s being punished by having food taken away from her..
Bullshit if you ask me.

New Years Resolution Time?

I’ve never really been a big New Years Resolution person. Not that I don’t think it’s a good idea to set goals and stuff, in fact, I think that most all success is attributed to setting and sticking to your goals.
I think the main reason I’ve never been a fan is because most “New Years Resolutions” were always boring generalities. I mean, com ‘on, how many times have you heard things like:
- This year I’m gonna eat fewer carbs
- This year I’m gonna make more money
- This year I’m gonna find a fun hobby
- This year I’m gonna lose more weight
- This year I’m gonna be more healthy
- This year I’m gonna… blah blah blah… and I’ll probably never see it through.
I was reading some celebrity “resolutions” on yahoo just a few minutes ago, and they were nearly ALL boring generalities.
Since general goals suck, I’ve decided to join the Resolution Craze and set a few for 2009 - with specifics.
Here are 3 of my 2009 Resolutions:
1) I’m gonna be more adventurous - Specifically, I’m going to go skydiving before August 31, 2009.
2) I’m gonna workout more - Specifically, I worked out Dec. 31, 2008 and started the year off Jan. 1, 2009 hitting the gym. Through the first 30 days of January, I will be going to the gym 24 times.
3) I’m going to eat more organic stuff. Specifically, I’m going to order my food from: Grass Fed Beef
If you’re planning to see your new years resolutions through fruition, I’d suggest getting specific, developing a plan, and mapping it out on paper…
