Tennis Kick Serve

Here’s how to hit a kick serve.
The idea is to place spin on the ball so that the ball is spinning diagonally 7 o’clock to 2 o’clock.
Step 1) the Kick Serve Grip. Use an eastern forehand grip
Step 2) the Kick Serve Toss. Toss the ball slightly forward and behind your head
Step 3) Kick Serve Swing Path. Strike the ball so that the racquet brushes it from 7-2 oclock
Step 4) Follow Through. At the moment of contact pronate your wrist outwards.
This will give the ball the topspin it needs to drop into the service box, and the side spin it needs to hook. As soon as the ball hits the courts it’ll kick to the right for a right handed server and left for a left handed server.

Running sprints and intervals at seperate times of the day than your tennis practice is effective, but nothing really compares to conditioning during practice. It’s good for several reasons:
1) It gives us a sense of fatigue that we’ll feel during the match
2) It’ll give us a good idea of how we’ll feel during a grueling match (so we’ll be used to it)
3) It allows us to practice Focusing.
Number 3 is the kicker. When we’re tired, it’s easy to lose focus. When we practice WHILE we’re tired & huffing and puffing it allows us to practice pushing through the pain of fatigue for mental focus.
Go here to learn exactly how to do it.
