Interval Training Workouts for Fat Loss
Filed Under 6 pack abs, Cardio, Fat Loss, Funny, Workout, Workouts, weight loss | Leave a Comment
A cool way to burn a crap load of fat pretty fast is using interval training workouts - but one of the little known problems is the danger they impose on your body.
Let’s say I’m a sedentary lard butt, and come across an article promising to lose a bunch of fat fast by doing interval training.
It gives the “prescription” that I should follow, and I’m stoked and ready to get started IMMEDIATELY.
The problem is that most interval training programs follow a sprint : Jog/Walk protocol.
So, I’d sprint for 20-60 seconds and follow up with 20-30 seconds of walking or jogging (this is the active rest period).
All fine and dandy until I get out there and actually do it. Especially since I’ve been sedentary for over a year or so.
Hello Sprints to HELLO JOINT PAIN.
Ankles and Knees will DIE unless a sprint interval program is slowly progressed up to.
This is why I prefer to interval training workouts with weights. It’s less taxing on the joints, lower back, and plus I don’t need a huge area to sprint 100-200 yards at a time.
Here’s the program I like to use:
