Contentment, Frustration, Anger…
Odd subject, right? Let me explain… with nearly anything
that causes massive action, we will go through phases, and
each phase illicits a certain amount of action.
The 3 phases are:
1) Contentment - state of being satisfied
2) Frustration - feeling of dissatisfaction, often accompanied
by anxiety or depression
3) Anger - a strong feeling of displeasure
Usually, these three phases take place in order… and somewhere
along the line (it’s different for each person) we decide to
take real action to solve the problem…
But regardless of your current state, whether you’re content,
frustrated, or absolutely angry at your current fitness level
there is something you can do about it now, and certain steps
to take depending on which “state” your currently in.
So, instead of wasting hours writing about each state and what
to do if you’re in that state, I’m asking you to tell me where
you feel you are right now..
And based on the response, I will try to help guide you down
the right path..
so, tell me… are you….
Content about your current fitness level? Perfectly happy with the
way you look, the way you feel, and the way others respond to you?
Frustrated? Do you feel slightly content, but when you look into
the mirror, do you get frustrated because you have a bit more pudge
than you’d like? Are you frustrated looking for a solution, but not
really sure what to do? Frustrated, but hope something comes along and
draws your attention, and when it does, you’ll “KNOW” that’s the solution?
Angry? Have you past the point of being frustrated, and now when you
look in the mirror or try on new clothes it makes you feel damned
determined to lose weigh-t.. and lose it NOW? So displeased with
things, that you do anything to help drop fa-t?
Let me help you by telling me where you are and where you want to go…

Dear Todd,
Most of the time i am frustrated that i am not acchieving my goal (a flat stomach), sometimes i feel angry about it.
The anger never lasts long enough to keep me in the food program you recommend though… Gym is easier, i like sports!
What is your tip?? Because i want to look toned in my wedding dress in May 2010 and want to be fit for cycling to Rome this year in August..

Hi Todd!
I’m feeling frustrated because though I’m fit, I feel pudgy (love-handles). I do plenty of outdoor walking each day; in the gym I usually spend 20-30 minutes on the cross trainer and 20-25 minutes on the rowers usually working up a good sweat. Afterwards I may spend up to 15 minutes on weights. I’m 5′10.5″ yet weigh 13 stone (182 pounds). Are the cross (epiliptical) trainers any good for shedding fat and strengthening abs or are they a waste of time?

Hi Todd,
I am downright pissed-off and really disappointed. Was always totally fit until I quit smoking 15 months ago. It has been tough - physically - to go through the detox and all. My eating is good, training is good, I am doing it all; weightlifting, resistance, cardio and all and not loosing fat…gaining much muscle, yes. So end result I am big from muscle AND fat. Not shedding any fat, no matter what. My trainer is dumbfounded, other trainers I talk to scratch their heads and say this is not possible, I should be so fit and slim. I really miss my body and I do not recognize myself in this shape. It takes so much energy and courage to keep going without ever seeing any results at all. Nothing changes except that I get more and more muscle.
So yes, I am angry.
